I am a writer, a field biologist, an environmental educator, and someone who spends a great deal of time thinking about birds. I prefer to be outside as much as possible, because that’s where there are rocks to climb and birds to see.
Lately this albatross has set up a home territory in Missoula, Montana, and I work with the RTC:Rural, a Research and Training Center housed at the University of Montana. Knowledge Translation Associate makes me sound very official. I’m fairly certain I’m the only person who works there who has held a pileated woodpecker.
